Mark Bedau Biography
Mark Bedau is Professor of Philosophy and Humanities at Reed College, adjunct member of the Systems Science department at Portland State, and regular visiting professor at the European School for Molecular Medicine in Milan. Mark A. Bedau has published widely on topics concerning computer simulations, emergence, evolutionary processes, and the nature of life. He is Editor-in-Chief of Artificial Life, co-editor of Protocells: Bridging NonLiving and Living Matter and Emergence: Contemporary Readings in Philosophy and Science, both MIT 2008, and co-editor of The Nature of Life: Classical and Contemporary Readings from Philosophy and Science (Cambridge University Press). He is co-editor of five volumes of the Artificial Life Proceedings.
